Vijay Salaskar, a well known encounter specialist of Maharashtra police succumbed to the bullets in an encounter with the terrorists on 26th November, 2008.

Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, a commando in NSG (deputed from the services of Indian Army) died in gun battle while trying to rescue the fellow commando Gajendar Singh who was injured in the fighting.
